✈️ My Story

I didn't fall into travel — I grew up in it.

My family was crossing the Atlantic long before I came along. My mom, a German immigrant, met my dad in Germany and followed him home to the States, where I was born, in Texas. We didn't stay long, though. Before I turned two, my dad's new orders sent us back to Germany, and it quickly became home — the place where I learned to speak German before English, then both at once, slipping between the two without ever really thinking about it.

We moved back and forth over the years, and one of those returns put me in a Berlin classroom just as the Wall came down. I'd been writing to a pen pal on the other side, and when our school took a trip across to finally meet her, it felt like stepping into a paused photograph — a place where time had simply stopped, like nothing I had ever seen. That was the trip that taught me what travel really does: it doesn't just take you somewhere new, it changes the way you see everything.

When my husband got his own orders to Germany, I was the one who knew the way — and excited to show him where I grew up. I navigated us there and settled us in, threading the U-Bahn and S-Bahn to get him to his duty station and the two of us around the country. My way of getting us there landed him in a bit of hot water — which I honestly hadn't seen coming — but I was proud to show him what I could do, and I wanted him to see what I already knew: Germany was never a place to be afraid of.

For a long time, none of this looked like a career to me — it was simply my life. Then one afternoon in 2019, sitting on a beach in Malta, it clicked: I wanted to spend my days giving other people the feeling I'd carried my whole life. So, I opened the doors to Superbly Justifiable Travel Services in April 2022.

My early trips were land stays, and one of them taught me something I still use every day. I was browsing a shop in St. Thomas when I overheard a clerk say the cruise ships were due in port soon, and that it was time to change the prices. Sure enough, up they went, right in front of me — and it has stayed with me ever since. Helping my travelers spend smart, and sidestep the markups that appear the moment a ship docks, is part of how I look out for them now.

Cruising itself came later, and it only took one trip to hook me. My very first cruise was fifteen days on Princess, and somewhere out on the water I fell completely in love with this way of traveling — you unpack once, and the journey itself becomes part of the destination. I've sailed twice more since, with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, and each cruise only deepened my love for it.

These days I build cruise-first vacations for travelers who want every detail handled with real care, from the first flicker of an idea to the moment they walk back through their own front door. And after a lifetime of crossing borders and oceans, I'm still not quite done exploring.
